We have a lot going on in West Michigan this fall including a true Indian Summer extending the warm weather into October. I am not complaining one bit, and I know that the construction industry is always appreciative of good dry weather for production on jobsites. Soon enough cold winds and lake effect snow will be peppering our windows.
Meanwhile the CSI Grand Rapids Chapter is busy getting ready for the upcoming West Michigan Design and Construction Expo 2017. Once again the Expo will be held at the Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville on October 26th from 11:30 to 6pm. The Expo offers four great presentations with AIA CEU Learning Credits and over 70 product and services booths . We hope that all our industry partners, Architects, Building Owners, General Contractors, Suppliers come together for a great day of networking at this great venue.
Recently our CSI Region President Ken Smith of the Indianapolis Chapter challenged the region chapters to grow their memberships by 20 new members this year. We accept this challenge and reach out to all of our membership to invite your friends and co-workers to experience CSI. For me it has been the Industry Connections I have developed over the past 20 years and the opportunity to work on so many projects with design professionals and contractors, helping each other get it right! Additionally, without CSI and the Certification Programs I would not have achieved my CDT or my CCPR. These CSI credentials I use every day have given me the credibility and confidence to contribute to the construction team in a positive way.
On behalf of CSI Grand Rapids we ask that you get involved, invite a guest, get that certification you have been thinking about, join the board or join a committee. I promise you it will be rewarding and you will not be disappointed.
