In my March letter I stated that, “Spring is just around the corner”, but this first week in April winter just won’t let go of its grip on us. Soon we will be complaining about the heat and wanting the fall to be here. We have our nominations in and elections to be held shortly, thank you to all the volunteers, and thank you to those who have served and are leaving their current positions. Please don’t go far we still need you and I promise we have a position for you on a committee somewhere!
I feel it is important to reemphasize upcoming events. The Grand Rapids Chapter of CSI is hosting the CSI 33th Annual Jim Hojnacki Scholarship Golf Outing to be held at Thornapple Pointe Golf Course on June 6th, so start making plans to support this great event by sponsoring a hole or getting your foursome together.
The April chapter program meeting will be a tour of the new Bridge and Stocking Development a new Urban Market project, the first of its kind in downtown west side Grand Rapids. A mix of retail, residential and a new store size for Meijer Retail/Grocery chain. Construction project tours are our most popular programs, so I hope to see everyone at the tour, bring a safety vest, safety glasses, your hardhats, and your curiosity.
We continue our challenge of increasing our membership, and I want to recognize Brian Welsh and the folks at Progressive AE for their continued support of CSI Grand Rapids and this initiative. We encourage every member to invite a friend or coworker to our monthly meetings. Every member needs to get involved, lets challenge each other to be a part of a committee and continue to make this the best chapter in the region.
I look forward to seeing everyone in next week at the Program. Travel safe, stay warm and thank you for your support of our Grand Rapids CSI Chapter.
